Bespoke engagement ring crafting in Belgrade: bring an idea, we will make the ring you imagined
4 June 2026

At Zlatara Andrejević in Belgrade, we craft an engagement ring exactly according to your idea, from the initial conversation to the finished piece with a 3D render before crafting. No sketch, no complications, with a fixed price from day one.
There is a certain type of person who walks into a jewellery store and immediately knows that what they are looking for is not on the display shelf.
Not because the rings are not beautiful. But because they carry something entirely specific in their mind. A shape they saw somewhere and remembered. A combination of materials that gives them no peace. A feeling they want that ring to convey, which cannot be found in a catalogue.
For such customers, there is a path that begins not with a finished ring, but with a conversation.
What can you bring to a consultation?
There is no wrong way to start. Customers arrive with:
- a photograph of a ring they saw online or in a magazine
- a scan of a page from a book or magazine
- just a description of the shape or feeling they want
- a reference to another piece of jewellery they love
- or with nothing specific at all, simply with a wish for the ring to be extraordinary
Aleksandar Andrejević, a GIA Graduate Gemologist with years of experience working with diamonds, translates every idea into a technical specification. That is the task of the consultation, to turn a vague concept into a ring you can see before it is made.
From idea to ring: what the process looks like in practice
From idea to ring, what the process looks like in practice
The process of creating a bespoke engagement ring (the so-called Custom Made service) at Zlatara Andrejević is not reserved for special occasions or exceptional budgets. It is designed for anyone with an idea, regardless of how precise or still vague that idea might be.
It begins with a conversation. The customer arrives with an idea, a photograph, a scanned page from a magazine, or simply a description, and sits down with Aleksandar Andrejević, a GIA Graduate Gemologist expert with years of experience working with diamonds. That conversation is not a sales pitch. It is a technical, craft-focused dialogue with the aim of moving from an idea to a precise technical specification.
Next comes the proposal. Based on the conversation, the team suggests a diamond or gemstones that match the envisioned aesthetics, the crafting method, and the metal type. The customer receives a render of the ring model, a visual representation of how the finished piece will look, before a single gram of gold enters the flame.
The price is fixed from day one and does not change until delivery.
The ring the customer receives in the end is not an interpretation of their idea. It is their idea itself, captured in gold and diamonds.

Dutch Cut diamond: when form speaks louder than size
One of our recent projects began with a simple yet clear request: the ring must be extraordinary.
The customer did not want a classic brilliant-cut diamond. Nor an oval. They wanted something that anyone seeing the ring would notice straight away, not because of the stone's size, but because of a shape that is not seen every day.
In consultation with Aleksandar Andrejević, who is personally familiar with the specific characteristics of various diamond cuts, a proposal was made: the Dutch Cut.
The Dutch Cut is an antique cut style that predates the modern brilliant cut. Octagonal in shape, with a flat top surface (table) and a pronounced geometry reminiscent of architectural forms, it is distinct from anything commonly offered on the market today. For a customer seeking character rather than convention, it was the exact right answer.
Stone: 5 ct IGI-certified lab-grown Dutch Cut diamond. · Setting: 6-claw Art Deco setting. · Metal: 18k yellow gold.
The result is a ring unlike any other. The customer left the boutique with a ring exactly as envisioned, knowing that the piece was truly one-of-a-kind.

Oval diamond with side baguette stones: classics redefined
Another project started from a different starting point: the customer knew the shape of the centre stone, but was uncertain about the rest of the ring.
An oval diamond was a clear decision. What required careful thought was how the remainder of the ring would complement that central stone without overshadowing it or appearing neutral.
The proposal emerging from the consultation: two baguette diamonds on the sides, set along the band next to the central oval. The baguette cut in this instance is tapered, creating a contrast with the soft, elongated silhouette of the oval stone that works exceptionally well visually.
Stone: 2 ct GIA-certified natural oval central diamond. · Side stones: 2x baguette-cut diamonds. · Metal: 18k yellow gold, 5 mm.
The model was developed from a sketch to a render, with every detail confirmed before crafting. The finished ring fully matched the visualization, which is the goal of every bespoke project.

Why bespoke crafting is not complicated
A common assumption is that bespoke ring making involves long waiting times, unclear costs, and uncertainty regarding the final outcome.
In practice, things work differently with us.
Costs are transparent from the very first conversation: the customer knows the price before confirming the order, and that price remains unchanged.
The production time depends on the complexity of the project, but in most cases, the finished ring is ready within a timeframe that suits the customer and is agreed upon in advance.
A render model prior to crafting eliminates uncertainty: you see the ring before it is made and can request adjustments while it is still possible without extra charges.
Behind every project stands a team that has worked with diamonds and gold all their lives, knowing the difference between a ring that satisfies and a ring that inspires.
Frequently asked questions about bespoke ring crafting
How much does a bespoke engagement ring cost?
The price depends on the type and size of the diamond, the type of gold, and the design's complexity. What remains fixed: the price is agreed before order confirmation and does not change through to delivery. Consultations are complimentary.
How long does bespoke ring crafting take?
In most cases, the ring is ready within 2 to 4 weeks. The lead time is agreed upon in advance and tailored to your plans, including the proposal date.
Do I need to have an exact idea when attending a consultation?
No. It is enough to know what feeling you want the ring to evoke. A photograph, a reference, or even a description of your impression is plenty of starting material. Aleksandar Andrejević translates every idea into a technical specification.
Can I see how the ring will look before it is made?
Yes. Every bespoke project includes a 3D render of the finished ring before crafting begins. Adjustments are possible at this stage at no additional cost.
Have an idea?
No sketch is needed. No precise specification is required. Knowing what you want the ring to represent is enough, and we will take care of the rest.
