Jewelry maintenance
The beauty of the jewellery will be fully revealed only if it is completely clean. In most cases, tepid water and a spoon of clothes or dish washing powder will be sufficient. Let your jewellery remain in the water for some time. The next thing you should do is to rub it slowly with an old toothbrush and then rinse it.
Before using some rough methods (boiling or a chemical), you should consult you jeweller to find out if it will somehow damage your jewellery.
Pearls are supposed to be rubbed slowly with a flannel cloth and nothing more.
After the washing, make sure that none of the stones is missing. If any of them is fixed loosely, it will fall out during the cleaning process, which is still a much cheaper option than to lose it for good.
The best and easiest way to clean diamond jewellery at home is to use water mixed with a spoonful of dishwashing detergent and some ammonia.
